Product Recalled: Flushmate III Series 503 Pressure-assist Flushing Systems, installed inside toilet tanks.


Manufacture Dates Affected: October 14, 1997 through April 30, 2011. The affected units have a 16-character serial number, with the first six digits representing the date code in MMDDYY format, ranging from 101497 (October 14, 1997) to 043011 (April 30, 2011).


Hazard: The recalled Flushmate III 503 units can burst at or near the vessel weld seam, releasing stored pressure. This can cause the toilet tank lid to lift and shatter the tank, posing serious impact and laceration hazards, as well as property damage. There have been reports of injuries and significant property damage as a result of these failures.

What To Do If You Own a Flushmate 503

1. Identify Your Unit:

  • Lift the toilet tank lid and locate the Flushmate III unit.

  • Find the serial number on the label on top of the unit.

  • Check if your serial number falls within the affected date code range (101497 to 043011).


2. Stop Using the Product:

  • Immediately turn off the water supply to the unit.

  • Flush the toilet to release any internal pressure.


3. Request a Free Repair Kit:
